The Caprese Salad is a typical salad from Italy specifically from Capri, where its name comes from. Caprese is the quintessential summer recipe, served either as an aperitif or as a main dish and consists of the use of buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes and basil, seasoned with salt, oregano and extra virgin olive oil.
Ingredients for the Caprese Salad
• Ripe Tomatoes (round)
• Mozzarella cheese
• Fresh Basil Leaves
• Extra Virgin Olive Oil
• Balsamic vinegar
• Salt and oregano to taste
Preparation of the caprese salad
We cut the tomatoes and Mozzarella cheese into slices, wash the basil and alternate tomato, cheese and basil to give the color that characterizes this delicious salad.
Finish with a touch of salt, oregano, olive oil and a little balsamic vinegar. Consume immediately once it is seasoned.
